Council Member tC seconded the <br /> motion to adopt, and the roll being called t the vote <br /> was as follows: <br /> AYES: ir. 1,: �_ // ;L / _ <br /> R .nt Oa 1c p� <br /> • �J A �Q �y1 <br /> NAYS: - Weitz , L / L nut. <br /> Whereupon, the Mayor declared said Resolution duly adopted <br /> as follows: <br /> ties() I ct i b J No. PS-a <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND PROVIDING FOR <br /> THE ISSUANCE OF $1,700,000.00 GENERAL <br /> OBLIGATION BONDS AND LEVYING A TAX TO <br /> PAY SAID BONDS <br /> WHEREAS, the Issuer is duly incorporated, organized and <br /> exists under and by virtue of the laws and Constitution of the <br /> State of Iowa; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Issuer is in need of funds to pay costs of <br /> constructing and equipping a new Municipal Building (to be used <br /> as a City Hall, including Council Chambers, Police Department <br /> and Fire Station), and constructing and equipping a Public <br /> Works Equipment Storage Facility Building, a general corporate <br /> purpose, and it is deemed necessary and advisable that its <br /> General Obligation Bonds in the amount of $1,700,000.00, be <br /> issued for said purpose; and <br /> WHEREAS, this Council, pursuant to Section 384.26 of said <br /> Code, did legally call a City election, fixing the time and <br /> place thereof, and did legally submit to the qualified electors <br /> of the City the proposition of issuing General Obligation Bonds <br /> of the City in an amount not exceeding $1,700,000.00, for the <br /> aforesaid purpose, and caused to be given legal sufficient and <br /> timely notice of said election and the time, place and purpose <br /> thereof; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City election was duly and legally held and <br /> conducted on March 12, 1985, pursuant to said call and to a <br /> legal notice duly given by publication in a legal newspaper, <br /> printed wholly in the English language, published at least once <br /> weekly, and having general circulation in the City, said publi- <br /> - 2 - <br /> AHLERS, COONEY, DORWEILER, HAYNIE.
