All signified aye, <br /> motion approved <br /> There were no citizen presentations. <br /> Heart of the Warrior Trail Connection: <br /> In 2010, the City of Waukee requested the Board's permission to submit a grant that would result <br /> in connecting their trail with the trail in Lions Park. They offered to pay for the portion of the <br /> trail paving in Clive. They have applied for and obtained grant funds to assist them with the <br /> project. Waukee has continued with planning efforts and are at a point to finalize the plans, bid <br /> and constrict the project. They are seeking the Board's permission to proceed with the <br /> constriction of the trail. With the Board's recommendation and council's approval, the City of <br /> Clive would issue a temporary constriction easement for the work in Clive and that would allow <br /> them to proceed. <br /> Reed made a motion to approve the request to connect the Waukee trail to the Clive trail in <br /> Lion's Park, seconded by Barnes. All signified aye, motion approved <br /> Arbor Day Tree Plantings: <br /> Two groups will be assisting with tree planting in Clive in observation of Arbor Day and Earth <br /> Day. On Friday, April 20th, there will be 40-50 volunteers from the ITA Group that will be <br /> assisting staff with a tree planting project at the detention area adjacent to Stonegate Park. Plans <br /> are to plant 400 trees that afternoon. That same day, the Clive Lions Club will be working with <br /> 75 fourth graders from Crestview Elementary School adding 75 trees to the same area. <br /> Easler made a motion to approve the planting plan, seconded by Reed All signified aye, <br /> motion approved <br /> Earth Day Trash Bash: <br /> Easler has worked toward a Greenbelt clean-up on Friday April 20th in conjunction with the <br /> annual "Trash Bash" that is sponsored by the City of Des Moines. They will be beginning at the <br /> 86th Street entrance to the Greenbelt Park and working east, picking up litter and removing some <br /> unwanted invasive species of plants.
