Clive Public Arts Advisory Commission Meeting Minutes <br /> Wednesday,April 25, 2012 <br /> Clive City Hall, North Conference Room, 1900 NW 114th Street <br /> Call to order: Commission Chairman Tom Murphy called the meeting to order at 5:35 PM. <br /> Members Present: Marilyn Baker, Anne Keating, Karen Leibold, Tracy Levine, Murphy, Kim Peters, Vicki <br /> Poole, Linda Shanks and Beth Wilson <br /> Staff and Guests Present: Matt McQuillen,Assistant City Manager <br /> Approval of Agenda and Minutes — A motion was made by Shanks and seconded by Peters that the <br /> Agenda be approved. The motion was unanimously approved. Upon a motion made by Leibold and <br /> seconded by Baker,the minutes were unanimously approved. <br /> Announcement from the Chair- Murphy reminded Commission members about the Chamber of <br /> Commerce presentation on May 15. <br /> Budget Review- McQuillen advised the Commission there were several minor expenditures since the <br /> last meeting. Brochures were printed for Art Along the Trail at a cost of $200. Zinc plates for the Art <br /> Along the Trail sculptures were imprinted with the name of the sculpture, the artist's name and the <br /> City's logo and the Commission's logo at a cost of approximately $50 each. The Parks Department crew <br /> will be installing the signs at each of the six locations. A donation of $100 was made by the Clive Good <br /> Idea Club to the Art Along the Trail project. The group is celebrating its 1001h anniversary as a women's <br /> organization in Clive. <br /> Old Business- <br /> Artist RFP/Development of City Hall Lobby Art- The subcommittee did not meet since the last meeting <br /> and will be working on a plan for the City Hall Lobby for approval at the Commission's June meeting. <br /> New Business- <br /> Grants and Fundraising-Approval of Sponsorship Levels- <br /> Clive Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Clive After Hours social event on Tuesday, May 15 at 5 <br /> p.m. at Valley Bank on University Avenue. The Chamber has asked the Commission to make a <br /> presentation on its work. McQuillen will be creating a slide show of photos of the Commission's public <br /> art installations for the event. In addition, the subcommittee (Levine, Peters and Wilson) will have a <br /> power point on how businesses in Clive can partner with the City to bring more Public Art to Clive. All <br /> Commission members are asked to attend the event. <br /> The subcommittee developed a chart to show the benefits that will be offered to Public Art program <br /> sponsors at different investment levels. These three levels include Master level for significant <br /> investments toward project costs; Curator level for investments ranging from 25% of project costs to <br /> $500; and Collector level for the purchase of tiles or other unique fundraising items. Investment by <br /> businesses, groups, neighborhoods or individuals will be recognized in a variety of ways including <br /> inclusion on name plates, press releases, city newsletter and verbal recognition at Public Art <br /> ceremonies. The sponsorship chart that was developed by the subcommittee will be available at the <br /> Chamber meeting for interested businesses. After a discussion, Shanks made a motion to approve the <br />
