Clive Public Arts Advisory Commission Meeting Minutes <br /> Wednesday, September, 26, 2012 <br /> Clive Aquatic Center Special Events Building, 1801 NW 114th Street <br /> Call to order: Commission Chairman Tom Murphy called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM. <br /> Members Present: Marilyn Baker, Anne Keating, Karen Leibold, Tracy Levine, Murphy, Vicki Poole and <br /> Linda Shanks <br /> Members Absent: Kim Peters, Beth Wilson <br /> Staff and Guests Present: Matt McQuillen, Assistant City Manager <br /> Approval of Agenda and Minutes — A motion was made by Leibold and seconded by Baker that the <br /> Agenda be approved. The motion was unanimously approved. Upon a motion made by Shanks and <br /> seconded by Levine,the minutes were unanimously approved. <br /> Announcement from the Chair- None. <br /> Budget Review- McQuillen advised the Commission he had been in contact with a local Clive business <br /> that was considering sponsoring a Commission activity in 2013. <br /> Old Business- <br /> City Nall Lobby Art- <br /> McQuillen reported the City may be willing to split the cost of the TV/Digital Picture Frame with the <br /> Commission for the front City Nall lobby. Levine is making contacts with local Clive businesses <br /> concerning the purchase. <br /> Kids for Art in Clive- <br /> Shanks reported the Clive Festival may be held later in the year rather than in July.This could impact the <br /> annual Kids for Art in Clive Exhibition which is held in conjunction with the Clive Festival. <br /> New Business- <br /> Art Along the Trail- <br /> Permanent Location- "Paths United" <br /> McQuillen had previously asked Commission members which of six locations around City Nall they <br /> preferred for the permanent site for "Paths United". "Paths United" was the Art Along the Trail piece <br /> which the City has purchased based on the public's vote. A small concrete pad will be constructed for <br /> the piece and it will be bolted into the concrete base. The approximate cost of the installation/concrete <br /> pad will be $300-$400. After discussion, Leibold made a motion which was seconded by Keating, that <br /> "Paths United" be permanently located on Site #6 which is an area adjacent to 114th Street and in front <br /> of the City Library and City Nall. The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> 2013 Call to Artists <br /> McQuillen also previously handed out an updated RFP for next year's Art Along the Trail Exhibition. The <br /> RFP now sets the maximum value of any piece submitted for the exhibition at $12,500. It also requires <br /> locking bolts for artwork. The schedule has also been updated. The RFP will be sent to artists and <br />
