Clive Public Arts Advisory Commission Meeting Minutes <br /> Wednesday, November 28, 2012 <br /> Clive City Hall Northwest Conference Room, 1900 NW 114th St <br /> Call to order: Commission Chairman Tom Murphy called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM. <br /> Members Present: Karen Leibold,Tracy Levine, Murphy and Dr. Vicky Poole <br /> Members Absent: Marilyn Baker, Linda Shanks, Kim Peter and Beth Wilson <br /> Staff and Guests Present: Matt McQuillen,Assistant City Manager <br /> Approval of Agenda and Minutes — A motion was made by Poole and seconded by Leibold that the <br /> Agenda be approved. The motion was unanimously approved. Upon a motion made by Levine and <br /> seconded by Leibold,the minutes were unanimously approved. <br /> Announcement from the Chair- None. <br /> New Business- <br /> Appoint of PAAC Secretary <br /> McQuillen explained, with the resignation of the former PAAC Secretary Anne Keating the PAAC will <br /> need to appoint a new secretary. The PAAC decided to wait until the January meeting where the PAAC <br /> would appoint new officers for both president and secretary. Murphy indicated he is ready to pass on <br /> president responsibilities onto another PAAC member since he has served in the role for two years. <br /> Distribution of PAAC FY 2012 Annual Report <br /> Tricia Shi, a student at Valley High School, has developed the FY 2012 Annual Report for the PAAC. <br /> Copies of the annual report were distributed by McQuillen at the meeting. Murphy will invite Tricia to <br /> the December 6 City Council meeting where she can be recognized for her work. <br /> Appoint of PAAC Representatives for Art Along the Trail Selection <br /> McQuillen indicated the PAAC must appoint two members to the selection committee for the 2013 Art <br /> Along the Trail program. Following discussion the PAAC members present decided that Levine and Peter <br /> would be asked to serve on the selection committee in February. <br /> Kids for Art in Clive <br /> McQuillen indicated that we were at a point where preparation needs to start for the 2013 Kids for Art <br /> in Clive art contest. Murphy indicated he would talk to the West Des Moines schools about included the <br /> art that is used for a similar art contest at the end of the school year. Also, Murphy indicated he would <br /> start drafting a letter as an invitation for the area art teachers. Poole indicated that it may be a good <br /> idea for the PAAC to meet face-to-face with the art teachers to show them the value of having students <br /> involved in the program. McQuillen indicated he would try and get a copy of the NCMIC logo to be <br /> included on any printed materials for the program. <br />
