poff MINUTES <br /> CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br /> Monday, February 4, 2013 <br /> Council Chambers <br /> 1900 NW 114th Street <br /> Present— Crawford, Fleagle, Reed, Shetler, *Easler <br /> Absent—Martin, Ramundt <br /> *Easler arrived at 5:36p.m. <br /> Crawford made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Reed All signified aye, motion <br /> approved <br /> Reed made a motion to approve the consent items, seconded by Crawford All signified aye, <br /> motion approved <br /> There were no citizen presentations. <br /> Porter Greenbelt Shelter Kiosk—Assistant City Manager, Matt McQuillen: <br /> The Kiosk at the Porter Greenbelt Shelter is up for replacement in 2013 as part of the annual sign <br /> replacement program. Matt McQuillen was unable to attend the meeting due to illness. Seth <br /> Gray, project architect from Confluence, was in attendance to present the Board with three <br /> options for the location of the double-sided Kiosk. Upon review of the options, the Board <br /> recommended a fourth location on the western edge of the park for placement of the Kiosk in <br /> order to be consistent with sign placement at Campbell Recreation Area. <br /> Crawford made a motion to move the Kiosk location closer to the main trail, seconded by <br /> Easler. All signified aye, motion approved <br /> Art Along the Trail Update: <br /> Six art pieces have been selected— staff presented three of the pieces for the Board to view. <br /> Special Park Use Permit—IDDC 5K Run: <br /> Iowa Digestive Disease Center submitted an application for a Special Park Use Permit for the <br /> IDDC 5K Run. Veryl Kroon, CEO of IDDC, was present to review the plans for the run. Staff <br /> recommends Board's approval subject to the applicant submitting a deposit check in the amount <br /> of$500 at least 30 days prior to the date of the event. Following the event, the City will bill the <br /> applicant for the actual expenses incurred by the City. Once payment is received in full, the <br /> deposit check will be returned to the applicant. <br /> Fleagle made a motion to approve the Special Park Use Permit, seconded by Crawford All <br /> signified qye, motion approved <br /> Greenbelt Trail and Park System Review: <br /> As staff and the Board reviewed sections of the Comprehensive Plan over the last four months, <br /> reviews were completed of all seven sections including"Section 7, The Implementation Plan." <br />
