poff MINUTES <br /> CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br /> Monday, March 4, 2013 <br /> Council Chambers <br /> 1900 NW 114th Street <br /> Present— Crawford, Ramundt, Reed, Shetler, *Easler <br /> Absent—Fleagle, Martin <br /> *Easley arrived at 5:38 p.m. <br /> Ramundt made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Crawford All signified aye, <br /> motion approved <br /> Reed made a motion to approve the consent items, seconded by Crawford All signified aye, <br /> motion approved <br /> There were no citizen presentations. <br /> Special Park Use Permit—Woofin-It 5K Walk/Run with Dogs: <br /> Jason Hancock, president of the Clive Jaycees, and Noah Jackson, Jaycees marketing vice- <br /> president, were present to answer any questions regarding the event. Staff is recommending <br /> approval subject to the applicant submitting a deposit check in the amount of$100 at least 30 <br /> days prior to the event. Following the event, the City will bill the applicant for the actual <br /> expenses incurred by the City. Upon receiving payment in full, the deposit check will be <br /> returned (subject to Council approval). <br /> Reed made a motion to approve the application, seconded by Crawford All signified aye, <br /> motion approved <br /> Arbor Day Planting Site: <br /> Staff presented the 2013 Arbor Day Planting Plan for the Board's review. The site is the area <br /> near the new bridge over Walnut Creek at the Aquatic Center. Staff is seeking approval of the <br /> site for the Arbor Day planting. <br /> Ramundt made a motion to approve the site, seconded by Reed All signified aye, motion <br /> approved <br /> Wish List Items: <br /> In January the Board requested a Wish List of items the department could use to provide better <br /> services to residents, but would not typically request in the budgeting process. Staff presented a <br /> list to the Board. Board requested that Staff establish a value and prioritize the list and present it <br /> at the next meeting. <br /> Director's Report: <br /> On April 26, 1993, the first softball was thrown at Campbell Recreation Area. Staff is working <br /> on an event to help commemorate twenty years of softball at Campbell Recreation Area. <br />
