MINUTES <br /> CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br /> Monday, September 9, 2013 <br /> Council Chambers <br /> 1900 NW 114th Street <br /> Present—Easler, Martin, Reed, Shetler <br /> Absent—Crawford, Ramundt <br /> Chairman Shetler called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> Shetler made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Reed. All signified aye, motion <br /> approved. <br /> Easler made a motion to approve the consent items, seconded by Reed. All signified aye, <br /> motion approved. <br /> There were no citizen presentations. <br /> Leisure Services Director Recruitment: <br /> City Manager, Dennis Henderson, shared information regarding the recruitment and interviewing <br /> process of the Leisure Services Director and sought to answer any questions or concerns from <br /> the Board. <br /> Town Center Master Plan: <br /> Assistant City Manager Matt McQuillen and Dennis Reynolds of Reynolds Urban Design were <br /> present to review the progress of the Town Center Master Plan via a PDF slide show and <br /> discussion. They are seeking the Board's comments and opinions regarding the proj ect proposal. <br /> 2013 City Council Strategic Plan Items: <br /> A. Greenbelt Trail Improvements Direction and Funding City Council has requested a <br /> planned approach to repairs, replacement and renovations for the trail. Staff will be <br /> working to determine the most logical replacement cycle for trail sections based upon the <br /> work created by Genus Landscape Design and accessibility of equipment for trail <br /> replacement projects for the next several years. Staff will have a proposal ready for your <br /> consideration at the next Board meeting. <br /> B. Greenbelt Trail and Park System Plan (Comprehensive Plank The Board has worked on <br /> and completed their review of the 2009 Comprehensive Parks, Recreation and Open <br /> Space Plan earlier this year. The City Manager has requested that the Board make a <br /> presentation to the City Council in October regarding this plan review effort and the <br /> Board's recommendations. <br /> C. Fee Structure for Use of Parks and Trails Facilities: The City Council has requested the <br /> Board's recommendation regarding the development of a fee structure for park users who <br /> are receiving compensation for a service utilizing public resources to conduct their <br /> business. Staff sought the Board's direction and will prepare additional information for <br /> their review and consideration at the next meeting. <br />
