Library Board Minutes <br /> City of Clive <br /> Monday, March 10, 2014 <br /> The meeting of the Clive Library Board of Trustees was held Monday, March 10, 2014, <br /> at Clive City Hall at 5:30 P.M. <br /> The Meeting was called to order by Secretary Faux at 5:33 p.m. <br /> Board Members Present: Faux, Sheffield, Vance and Bogaczyk. Marquardt joined the meeting <br /> at 5:36 p.m. Menning and Price were absent. <br /> Also present: Assistant Library Director Morgan, Administrative Assistant Hungerford and City <br /> Council Liaison John Edwards. <br /> Motion by Bogaczyk, second by Vance to approve the Agenda. Ayes: Bogaczyk, Vance, Sheffield <br /> and Faux. Nays: None. Motion Carried. <br /> Citizen's Presentation/Public Comment: <br /> None <br /> Consent Items: <br /> Motion by Sheffield, second by Bogaczyk to approve the Consent Items. 4a. Minutes dated <br /> February 10, 2014; 4b. Financial Reports February 2014; 4c. Revenue Reports February 2014; <br /> 4d. Attendance Reports February 2014; 4e. Circulation Reports February 2014. Ayes: Sheffield, <br /> Bogaczyk, Vance and Faux. Nays: None. Motion Carried. <br /> Friends Report: <br /> The annual June book sale will not be held this year. A meeting will be scheduled to determine <br /> disbursement of Friends funds. <br /> Director's Report: <br /> - The early literacy program, 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, started in September. As of the <br /> end of February, over 200 families have participated in the program and have read almost 34,000 <br /> books to their children. <br /> - The first meeting of the newly formed writers group was held in early March. <br /> - Town Center Update: On March 6, 2014, Council approved the town center RFQ (Request for <br /> Qualifications) seeking developers interest in the project. At this time, they are going forward with <br /> a government building that will house the police department and city administrative offices, with <br /> the library possibly being a tenant in the retail space. The RFQ is on the City's webpage and board <br /> members were encouraged to review it. <br /> - Director Seaman is attending the PLA conference in Indianapolis the week of March 10. <br /> President's Report: <br /> None <br /> Old Business: <br /> a. Circulation Policy Update—The Board reviewed and discussed the updated draft. <br /> Motion by Marquardt, second by Vance to approve the Circulation Policy as presented at this <br /> meeting. Ayes: Marquardt, Vance, Sheffield, Bogaczyk and Faux. Nays: None. Motion Carried. <br />
