Library Board Minutes <br /> City of Clive <br /> Monday, April 21, 2014 <br /> The meeting of the Clive Library Board of Trustees was held Monday, April 21, 2014, at <br /> Clive City Hall at 5:30 P.M. <br /> The Meeting was called to order by President Menning at 5:31 p.m. <br /> Board Members Present: Faux, Sheffield, Vance, Price, Menning and Marquardt. Bogaczyk was <br /> absent. <br /> Also present: Leisure Services Director Todd Seaman, Administrative Assistant Hungerford and <br /> City Council Liaison John Edwards. <br /> Motion by Price, second by Sheffield to approve the Agenda. Ayes: Price, Sheffield, Vance, Faux, <br /> Marquardt and Menning. Nays: None. Motion Carried. <br /> Citizen's Presentation/Public Comment: <br /> None <br /> Consent Items: <br /> Motion by Vance, second by Marquardt to approve the Consent Items. 4a. Minutes dated <br /> March 10, 2014; 4b. Financial Reports March 2014; 4c. Revenue Reports March 2014; <br /> 4d. Attendance Reports March 2014; 4e. Circulation Reports March 2014. Ayes: Vance, <br /> Marquardt, Sheffield, Faux, Price and Menning. Nays: None. Motion Carried. <br /> Friends Report: <br /> The Clive Community Foundation is not yet fully established. Once it is ready, Friends members <br /> want to have a meeting with the Foundation before transferring funds. Director Seaman is working <br /> with Friends Treasurer on the annual IRS filing. <br /> Director's Report: <br /> Director Seaman informed the Board of an incident at the library on Friday, April 18. The police <br /> and fire department evacuated the building and took over control of the situation. The Board wished <br /> to pass along their thanks to the library staff for their decisive and quick actions. <br /> President's Report: <br /> - Board Members requested additional statistics be provided to them as follows: a monthly report <br /> on the size of the collection, the number of books purchased and number of books withdrawn for <br /> both adults and children; an annual report on the number of magazine subscriptions ordered and <br /> cancelled; and either an annual or semi-annual report that reflects where Clive library patrons live. <br /> - The town center project is moving forward with the Request for Proposals going out in May. <br /> There is detailed information on the project on the City's website. <br /> Old Business: <br /> a. Reference Policy Update - The Board reviewed and discussed the updated draft. To be consistent, <br /> it was requested that"bold chat" in the first paragraph be changed to live chat. <br /> Motion by Faux, second by Marquardt to approve the Reference Policy as presented at this meeting, <br /> with the above change. Ayes: Faux, Marquardt,Vance, Sheffield, Price and Menning. Nays: <br /> None. Motion Carried. <br />
