MINUTES <br /> CLIVE LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES <br /> Monday, August 18, 2014 <br /> Council Chambers <br /> 1900 NW 114th Street <br /> Board Members Present: Bogaczyk, Faux, Price and Vance <br /> Absent: Menning, Marquardt and Sheffield <br /> Also present: Leisure Services Director Todd Seaman, Administrative Assistant Atha and City <br /> Council Liaison John Edwards <br /> In Chairperson Menning's absence, the meeting was called to order by Faux at 5:35 p.m. <br /> Price made a motion to approve the Agenda, seconded by Bogaczyk. Ayes: Bogaczyk, Faux, <br /> Price and Vance. Nays: none. <br /> Vance made a motion to approve the Minutes from June 16, 2014, seconded by Bogaczyk. Ayes: <br /> Bogaczyk, Faux, Price and Vance. Nays: none. <br /> Citizen's Presentation/Public Comment: <br /> None. <br /> Old Business: <br /> None. <br /> New Business —Waiver of Library Card Requirements: <br /> Staff has been contacted by Yasir Al Imami from the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. <br /> They requested a staff member visit his class and provide a presentation about library services and <br /> programs. The request also included issuing temporary library cards for those that have not yet <br /> obtained a U.S. driver's license. Staff is seeking permission to issue temporary library cards to the <br /> U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. <br /> Bogaczyk made a motion to approve temporary library cards with the requirement of limiting <br /> checkout items to five books and five media as well as a stipulation that staff will report back to the <br /> Board in three months as to how the program is progressing; seconded by Price. Ayes: <br /> Bogaczyk, Faux, Price and Vance. Nays: None. <br /> Friends Report: <br /> None. <br /> Director's Report: <br /> • Director Seaman reviewed some program highlights that are offered in the Fall/Winter <br /> 2014-15 Clive Creations. <br /> • Seaman informed the Board that upon review of the proposals received from the private <br /> development firms on Friday, August 8, the City Council concluded that the Town Center <br /> project was not financially viable at this time. <br /> President's Report: <br /> None. <br />
