MINUTES <br /> CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br /> Monday, July 7, 2014 <br /> Council Chambers <br /> 1900 NW 114th Street <br /> Present–Bell, Ramundt, Reed, Shetler, Weiler <br /> Absent–Crawford and Martin <br /> Shetler called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> Bell made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Ramundt. Ayes:Reed, Shetler, <br /> Weiler. Nays: none. <br /> Reed made a motion to approve the minutes from May 5, 2094, seconded by Bell. Ayes: <br /> Ramundt, Shetler, Weiler. Nays:none. <br /> Citizen presentations: Michael and Janel Minear of 14932 Lakeview Dr., Barbara and Tom <br /> Good of 14792 Lakeview Dr., and Rex McClaflin of 14282 Lakeview Dr. presented concerns <br /> regarding snow removal from the trail that runs behind their homes. Board Chair Shetler <br /> recommended the board tour the area with staff. <br /> Old Business: <br /> There was no old business to discuss. <br /> New Business: <br /> a. Greenbelt Trail Signage Program — In 2012 a signage plan for the City of Clive was <br /> approved that included updating the way-finding signage along the Clive Greenbelt Trail. <br /> Staff has been working with Seth Grey, landscape architect with Confluence, on refining <br /> and updating the signage plan that was originally adopted. Grey was present and <br /> available to answer the Board's questions regarding the signage. Recommendations for <br /> sign placement and signage design were presented for the Board's consideration. <br /> Ramundt made a motion to approve the recommendation that City Council approve the <br /> signage plan from Confluence, seconded by Reed. Ayes: Bell, Shetler, Weiler. Nays: <br /> none. <br /> b. Leisure Services Department Structure Recommendations —Leisure Services <br /> Director, Todd Seaman presented his recommendation for structure of the Leisure <br /> Services Department to the Board. The Leisure Services Structure Plan includes: <br /> keeping the structure of the Parks and Recreation and Library advisory boards to remain <br /> intact as they currently function; having an annual combined Park Board and Library <br /> Board meeting; conduct a yearly workshop with each advisory board and the City <br /> Council; update Library and Parks and Recreation mission statements to align with <br /> Leisure Services and City mission statements; and other short- and long-term priorities. <br /> Bell made a motion to formally endorse the Leisure Services Structure Plan, seconded <br /> by Weiler. Ayes:Ramundt, Reed, Shetler. Nays:none. <br /> Director's Report: <br /> Director Seaman had nothing to report. <br />
