CLIVE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />Work Session <br />August 3, 2017 <br />Call to Order/Roll Call/Pledge of Allegiance <br />The quarterly work session of the Clive City Council was held Thursday, August 3, 2017 in the Clive <br />City Hall Northwest Conference Room. Mayor Cirksena presided and called the meeting to order at <br />6:00 p.m. Council members present were: John Edwards, Susan Judkins, Eric Klein, Ted Weaver. <br />Absent: Michael McCoy. <br />John Edwards moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Eric Klein. Roll Call: Ayes: Edwards, <br />Judkins, Klein, Weaver. Motion carried. <br />Discussion <br />a. Clive Healthy Hometown - Health & Wellness Initiative <br />Jon Garnaas, Trina Suchan, Interim Executive Director of the Clive Community Health & Wellness <br />Initiative, and Mary Lawyer of Wellmark joined the meeting to discuss the progress on the project. <br />b. 2018 Home Show - Angel Park <br />Doug 011endike led discussion with the Council on the Home Show that will be held in Clive the <br />summer of 2018 and other planning requests of the Homebuilders Association. <br />c. Stormwater Issue - Verona Hills <br />Doug 011endike provided an update to the City Council on an ongoing drainage issue in the Verona <br />Hills development. Staff was directed to move forward to address the situation. <br />d. Local Options Sales & Services Tax Discussion <br />The City Manager led the discussion on the Local Option Sales and Services Tax referendum <br />proposed based on petition submitted to the Dallas County Board of Supervisors. Staff will put <br />together several language options for the ballot on the next agenda for the Council to consider. <br />There was consensus that 50% would be for property tax relief, and options for the remaining 50% <br />to be determined. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:37 p.m. <br />Scott Cirksena, Mayor <br />
