<br /> <br /> MINUTES <br />CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br />Monday, November 3, 2008 <br />Council Chambers <br />th <br /> 1900 NW 114 Street <br /> <br />Chairman Lancaster called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />*Present – , <br />BarnesCrawford, Klein, Lancaster,Otte <br /> <br />Absent- <br />Lorenzen <br /> <br />Otte made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Klein. All signified aye, motion <br />approved. <br /> <br />Otte made a motion to approve the consent items, seconded by Crawford. All signified aye, <br />motion approved. <br /> <br />There were no citizen presentations. <br /> <br />*Easler arrived at 5:32. <br /> <br />Operating Budget Proposal- <br />Staff gave an overview of the 2009-2010 Budget Proposal. Estimated revenues and <br />expenditures were discussed. <br /> <br />Crawford made a motion to approve the Operating Budget Proposal as presented. Easler <br /> <br />seconded the motion. All signified aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />Recreation Program Registration Policies and Procedures- <br />Staff presented the current procedures and the suggested changes. The Board was asked to <br />review and discuss at next month’s meeting. <br /> <br />Fee Schedule for 2009- <br />Discussion was held regarding shelter rental fee differences for residents and non-residents and <br />Aquatics discount pass rates or early purchase incentives. Options will be brought back to next <br />month’s meeting for the Board’s approval. <br /> <br />Ambassador’s Reports- <br />Lancaster attended the recent Tree Committee meeting and reported that members approved <br />two applications for grants. The Trees Please Grant will be received and an application will be <br />submitted for Tree City USA.Dates for Arbor Day Planting and locations, including the <br /> <br />Aquatic Center green area and Country Club Glen Park, were suggested. The committee <br />would like to reinstitute scout and school group involvement with the event. <br /> <br /> <br />Director’s Report- <br /> <br />-Four staff members attended the National Parks and Recreation Conference in Baltimore <br />recently and are eager to share knowledge and use ideas gained at the conference. <br /> <br />-The consultant continues to work on the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />
