<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br />CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br />Monday, February 2, 2009 <br />Special Events Building at the Clive Aquatic Center <br />th <br /> 1801 NW 114 Street <br /> <br />Chairman Otte called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Present – , <br />BarnesCrawford, Klein, Otte <br /> <br />Absent – <br />Easler, Guisinger, Lorenzen <br /> <br />Crawford made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Klein. All signified aye, <br />motion approved. <br /> <br />Crawford made a motion to approve the consent items, seconded by Barnes. All signified <br />aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />There were no citizen presentations. <br /> <br />Public Arts Master Plan- <br />Lisa Schmidt, Assistant City Manager, gave an overview of the plan. The Public Arts <br />Advisory Commission created a plan to offer guidance for implementing public art throughout <br />the city. One project zone will specifically include public art in the Parks and Trail System. <br /> <br />Recreation Programs- <br />Doug Harris and McKenzie Kiger, Recreation Supervisors, reviewed a list of new, continued, <br />and discontinued Recreation and Aquatic programs for the 2009 Spring/Summer season <br />schedule. The 2009 Spring/Summer Clive Brochure will be mailed to Clive residents on <br />March 3 and to others on March 9. <br />A special “Clive Night” at the Aquatic Center is being planned for July 12. Flipside Band will <br />be featured and free admittance to the Aquatic Center will be offered to Clive residents. <br /> <br />Klein made a motion to approve Recreation and Aquatic Programs and Special Events as <br /> <br />presented. Crawford seconded the motion. All signified aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />Polk County Community Betterment Grant Application- <br />An application, requesting funds to assist toward purchasing security cameras to deter <br />vandalism in the parks, has been prepared by staff. <br /> <br />Klein made a motion to approve the Community Betterment Grant Application as prepared. <br /> <br />Crawford seconded the motion. All signified aye, motion approved. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
