<br />Clive Public Arts Advisory Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Tuesday, March 17, 2009 <br />th <br />Clive City Hall, NW Conference Room, 1900 NW 114 Street, Clive <br />Call to order by Chairman <br />, Dr. John Dilley at 5:20 pm <br />Members Present <br />: Dilley, Yvonne Brune, Bill Dikis, Karen Liebold, Chaden Halfhill, <br />Tracy Levine, Anne Keating, Chuck Kuba, Linda Shanks <br />Staff Present <br />: Lisa Schmidt, Assistant City Manager <br />Motion to approve agenda <br />: Dikis moved to approve, Shanks second, motion approved <br />by unanimous vote. <br />Motion to approve previous meeting minutes <br />: Dikis moved to approve, Shanks second, <br />motion approved by unanimous vote. <br />Budget review <br />: Lisa provided a document that displayed the current budget balance. <br />$17,591.85 from the original BRAVO grant is the baseline of the budget. This is <br />th <br />earmarked for two of the NW 86 Street arts projects (crossing guard shelter art insets <br />th <br />and the art planned for the plaza park at the corner of NW 86 and University Blvd) and <br />should be integrated with the infrastructure that is already in the works. Levine <br />commented that the Commission may not be able to apply for additional BRAVO grants <br />until the current dollars are spent/dedicated and accounted for. The consultant fees for the <br />master plan and the website URL/domain have been paid from the initial $20,000 <br />BRAVO dollars. Levine also mentioned line items of staff time and in-kind equipment <br />costs should be included in the budget. Halfhill also mentioned including volunteer time. <br />Website review <br />: The website live (). Shanks commented that a <br />few minor tweaks are necessary. Levine commented to include a place for interested <br />artists to go to contact us. Shanks also requested additional public arts photos, local, <br />regional, national, and international for the gallery page. Send electronic pics directly to <br />Shanks’ email. Schmidt offered to be the contact person listed on the site. <br />New business <br />: Schmidt presented the Dallas County Community Foundation grant as a <br />possible funding opportunity for the art desired at Shuler Elementary. The grant is due <br />April 20 and offered to start the grant writing process. <br />A grant writing subcommitteewas formed with Schmidt, Levine, Halfhill and Kuba. <br />Keating will review. Schmidt will contact Lynette Pohlman for advice and will initiate <br />the grant writing. Shanks motioned to approve the grant writing procedure, Kuba <br />seconded, motion was passed unanimously. <br /> <br />
