<br /> <br />Library Board Minutes <br />City of Clive <br />Monday, April 20, 2009 <br /> <br /> <br />The meeting of the Clive Library Board of Trustees was held Monday, April 20, 2009, at <br />Clive City Hall at 6:00 P.M. <br /> <br />The Meeting was called to order by President Durick at 6:00 p.m. <br />Board Members Present: Janssen, Palestini, Sinkler, Faux, Rullman, Marquardt and Durick. <br />Also present: Director Hibbert, Office Assistant Hungerford, Friends of the Library Board <br />Members Lynn Pettit and Vicki Waters. <br /> <br />Motion by Palestini, second by Janssen to approve the Agenda. Ayes: Palestini, Janssen, <br />Rullman, Sinkler, Durick, Marquardt and Faux. Nays: None. Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Citizen’s Presentation/Public Comment: None <br /> <br />Motion by Faux, second by Rullman to approve the Consent Items. 4a. Minutes dated <br />March 16, 2009; 4b. Financial Reports March 2009; 4c. Revenue Reports March 2009; <br />4d. Attendance Reports March 2009; 4e. Circulation Reports March 2009. Ayes: Faux, <br />Rullman, Palestini, Janssen, Sinkler, Durick and Marquardt. Nays: None. Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Director’s Report: <br />- The Library received a letter from a patron regarding the lack of parking space at the Library. <br />The letter has been forwarded to Council. Other patrons have reported to Staff they’ve left on <br />occasion, because there were no available parking spaces. <br />- The City has been looking into renovating all of this building. Although the Library would <br />gain some additional space for materials, it would lose most of its program and meeting space. <br />Council is concerned about the cost of renovations for a temporary fix of 3-4 years and has <br />asked City Staff to look at alternatives. This will be an item of discussion at a work session <br />the Council will hold on April 30 at 6:00 p.m. Board Members were encouraged to attend. <br /> <br />Friends Report: <br />Lynn Pettit reported on the Friends April 13 annual meeting. Their two main goals are to <br />increase membership and volunteers and to increase ways to do fundraising. This will be <br />the tenth year for their annual book sale. 30-40 volunteers are needed throughout the week <br />for varying duties.
