<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br />CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br />Monday, May 4, 2009 <br />Council Chambers <br />th <br /> 1900 NW 114 Street <br /> <br />Chairman Otte called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Present – <br />Crawford, *Easler, Klein, Otte, Reed <br /> <br /> Absent - <br />Barnes, Guisinger <br /> <br />Crawford made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Klein. All signified aye, <br />motion approved. <br /> <br />Klein made a motion to approve the consent items, seconded by Crawford. All signified aye, <br />motion approved. <br /> <br />There were no citizen presentations. <br /> <br />*Easler arrived at 5:32. <br /> <br />Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Plan- <br />Laura Peters, Genus Landscape Architects, presented an overview of the Comprehensive Plan <br />Project. The process has included gathering public input, taking inventory and assessing <br />existing facilities and programs, analyzing data and demographic standards, and initializing a <br />vision for the future. The Board advised that more responses should be sought to achieve <br />higher survey numbers. Board Members agreed to help in gathering further comments. The <br />plan will be completed and brought back for approval at the July or August Park Board <br />meeting before going to City Council. <br /> <br /> <br />Clive Festival Special Event Request- <br />Dave Ennen, Vice President, Clive Festival Committee, reviewed the event application, <br />including the site plan, new items and activities for the 2009 schedule. Otte asked that the <br />band turn off flood lights during the fireworks; Ennen will ask the committee to vote on it. <br />Staff noted that insurance information will need to be provided when the request is submitted <br />to the City Council. Contacts for the Park Staff during the festival set-up and event will be <br />Dave Ennen and Dave Johnson. <br />Scott Cirksena, 16330 Boston Parkway, Clive Festival Committee Member and Clive City <br />Council Member, spoke regarding donations that will be made from the festival proceeds. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
