<br /> <br /> <br />Library Board Minutes <br />City of Clive <br />Monday, May 18, 2009 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The meeting of the Clive Library Board of Trustees was held Monday, May 18, 2009, at <br />Clive City Hall at 6:00 P.M. <br /> <br />The Meeting was called to order by President Durick at 6:00 p.m. <br />Board Members Present: Rullman, Palestini, Faux, and Durick. Janssen joined the meeting <br />at 6:04 p.m. Absent: Sinkler and Marquardt. <br />Also present: Director Hibbert and Office Assistant Hungerford. <br /> <br />Motion by Palestini, second by Faux to approve the Agenda. Ayes: Palestini, Faux, Rullman <br />and Durick. Nays: None. Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Citizen’s Presentation/Public Comment: None <br /> <br />Motion by Rullman, second by Palestini to approve the Consent Items. 4a. Minutes dated <br />April 20, 2009; 4b. Financial Reports April 2009; 4c. Revenue Reports April 2009; <br />4d. Attendance Reports April 2009; 4e. Circulation Reports April 2009. Ayes: Rullman, <br />Palestini, Faux and Durick. Nays: None. Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Director’s Report: <br />- The Board discussed Facebook and Twitter and how the Library could utilize these current <br />social networking tools to promote reading, the Library and library events. A draft of a Social <br />Media policy will be provided to the Board for review. <br />- Deposit collections for day cares and preschools were also discussed as a way of enhancing <br />the outreach services provided by the Library in promoting early childhood reading. The <br />collections would consist of board and picture books available for check out only by the day <br />care and preschool providers. <br />- This summer the Library will be offering two simultaneous sessions of Tales with Tails. <br />- The Board discussed setting limits on delinquent borrower accounts of Tech Room users. <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned by President Durick at 6:43 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />Kathie Hungerford <br />Library Office Assistant <br /> <br /> <br />
