<br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br />MONDAY, MAY 7, 2007 <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />TH <br />1900 NW 114 STREET <br /> <br /> <br />Chairman Lancaster called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />Present – <br />Crawford, Easler,Lancaster, Lorenzen, Otte, Wisnieski <br /> <br /> <br />Absent – <br />Wenman <br /> <br />Wisnieski moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Otte. All signified aye, motion <br />approved. <br /> <br /> <br />Lorenzen moved to approve the consent items, seconded by Wisnieski. All signified <br />aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />Citizen Presentations- <br />There were no citizens presentations. <br /> <br />nd <br />Special Event - Clive Festival: <br />Dave Ennen, 1613 NW 102 Street, President of the <br />Clive Festival Committee, presented this years requests for the Clive Festival. With the <br />anticipated construction of the senior housing development the committee is requesting <br />consideration to move the festival site to the upper parking are of the Aquatic Center. <br />strd <br />Dates requested are June 21 through June 23. Two proposed site plans have been <br />included in the board members packets along with the application for a special event <br />and a cover letter that further explains the festival committee’s requests. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Wisnieski, seconded <br />Staff noted several items for clarification. <br />by Easler to approve the application for a special event with the following <br />clarifications. All signified, motion approved. <br /> <br /> <br />A.Off site parking will be used, possibly at the Mercy and Silvercrest properties and <br />the additional City land on the Cownie Addition. The Clive Lions Club and other <br />volunteers will assist with parking and the control of litter at the aquatic center <br />and the Cownie property as needed. <br />th <br /> <br />B.Carnival rides and all equipment must be off the site by noon on Monday the 25. <br />The carnival may operate on Sunday (Noon - 6:00 PM) provided the festival <br />committee will be available to supervise the use of the site. Without supervision <br />the carnival may not operate on Sunday. <br /> <br />C.Site plan “B” may be used provided temporary fence is installed in an east west <br />direction approximately 10 feet south of the aquatic center permanent fence. <br />Carnival trucks and other equipment shall be parked along this fence to provide a <br />buffer between the aquatic center users and the festival operations. <br /> <br />
