<br />MINUTES <br />CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br />Monday, January 14, 2008 <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />th <br />1900 NW 114 STREET <br /> <br /> <br />Kelly Canfield, Director of Parks and Recreation, called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />Present - <br />Barnes, Crawford, Klein, Lancaster, Otte <br /> <br />Absent – <br />Easler <br /> <br />Otte nominated Marvin Lancaster to serve as Board Chairman for 2008, seconded by <br />Klein. All signified aye, nomination approved. <br /> <br />Lancaster nominated Kevin Otte for Board Vice Chairman for 2008, seconded by <br />Crawford. All signified aye, nomination approved. <br /> <br />Otte moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Klein. All signified aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />Otte moved to approve the consent items, seconded by Crawford. All signified aye, motion <br />approved. <br /> <br /> <br />There were no citizen presentations. <br /> <br />Meeting Days and Times- <br />Discussion was held in regard to changing the meeting date and/or time. <br /> <br />Crawford moved to maintain the current meeting schedule of the first Monday of each <br />month at 5:30 p.m., seconded by Klein. All signified aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Board ByLaws- <br />Staff summarized recommendations for updating bylaws and asked for suggestions and <br />changes needed. <br /> <br />Lorenzen arrived at 5:39. <br /> <br />Board Members were asked to become involved on various committees monitoring programs, <br />parks, facilities and attending City Council meetings. Staff will bring further details to next <br />month’s meeting. <br /> <br />Karp Plaza Park Project- <br />Staff reviewed the Karp Park Project and items pertaining to the senior housing complex, <br />which is currently being constructed adjacent to the park. Developers have agreed to install <br />th <br />the recreational trail through the park to 109 Street. Erosion issues will be addressed. <br />Previous neighborhood meetings were held and residents communicated the park <br />improvements that they desired. A conceptual plan was developed and mailed back to the <br /> <br />
