<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br />MONDAY, April 2, 2007 <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />TH <br />1900 NW 114 STREET <br /> <br /> <br />Chairman Lancaster called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />Present – <br />Crawford,Lancaster, Lorenzen, Otte, Wenman,Wisnieski <br /> <br /> <br />Absent – <br />Easler <br /> <br />Wisnieski moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Otte. All signified aye, <br />motion approved <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />Wisnieski moved to approve the consent items, seconded by Lorenzen. All <br />signified aye, motion approved <br />. <br /> <br />Citizen Presentations- <br />Susan Pohl, Central Iowa Sierra Club Representative, inquired about decisions made <br />for removing garlic mustard in the Greenbelt area. Staff responded that the Polk County <br />Conservation Commission had been contacted for recommendations. <br /> <br />Clive Running Festival Committee Requests- <br /> <br />th <br />Nancy Hoegh, 13990 Lakeshore Dr., Clive, and Jim Bergeson, 2515 134 St., <br />Urbandale, Clive Running Festival Committee Members, presented requests for the <br /> <br />June 16,2007 event located at Campbell Recreation Area. Requests remain the same as <br />previous years with the addition of staff’s recommendations regarding parking. Much <br />of the area previously used for parking will be newly seeded due to the renovation <br />project at Campbell Recreation Area. Staff suggested that the committee secure <br />alternative parking, for that day, at neighboring businesses in case of rain. <br /> <br />Wisnieski moved to approve request as presented, based on staff’s <br />recommendation for parking, and with the insurance certificate being submitted. <br />Motion was seconded by Otte. All signified aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />Sertoma Club Special Event Request- <br />Paulette Taylor from the Sertoma Club Fantasy Baseball Camp contacted staff to <br />request use of Linnan Park Shelter and Ball Diamond for a baseball camp scheduled on <br />the mornings of July 16-19, 2007. Staff reported that there are no conflicts at this <br />location on these dates so the shelter would be available to be rented for $45.00 per <br />day. Staff suggested that a restricted flight ball be used by the older camp participants <br />due to an unfenced field. <br /> <br />
