<br /> <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br />CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br />Monday, April 7, 2008 <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />th <br />1900 NW 114 STREET <br /> <br />Chairman Lancaster called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />Present – , , <br />BarnesCrawfordLancaster, Lorenzen, Otte <br /> <br />Absent – <br />Easler, Klein <br /> <br />Otte moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Lorenzen. All signified aye, motion <br />approved. <br /> <br />Lorenzen moved to approve the consent items, seconded by Otte. All signified aye, <br />motion approved. <br /> <br />There were no citizen presentations. <br /> <br />Karp Plaza Park Construction Plan- <br />Laura Peters, Genus Landscape Architects, presented the park plan including <br />construction notes and costs. The board discussed their concerns for tree removal, trail <br />connection and space used for the ½ basketball court. <br /> <br />Otte made a motion to approve the park plan as presented. Crawford seconded the <br />motion. All signified aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />Tree Committee Recommendation- <br />The Tree Committee met on March 26 and approved an Arbor Day tree planting <br />ceremony for the Barnum Addition to the Greenbelt Park. The Arbor Day celebration <br />and public planting will be held on April 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. All attending will <br />receive a sapling as a complimentary gift. <br /> <br />Lorenzen made a motion to approve the Arbor Day Tree Planting Ceremony, <br />seconded by Otte. All signified aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />RFP for Comprehensive Park, Recreation and Open Space Planning- <br />A request was presented by staff for proposals regarding consulting services needed for <br />work on the plan. Considerations for the study would include what citizen’s want <br />provided in their parks and recreation services, what recreation services are currently <br />offered in the Clive area, facility requirements needed for the future, and a look at the <br />original 1973 goals and mission established for the Greenbelt Park. <br />The Board was asked for representatives to take part on the Review Committee. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
