<br /> <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br />CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br />Monday, May 5, 2008 <br />Porter Greenbelt Shelter <br /> 10490 Maddox Parkway <br /> <br />Chairman Lancaster called the meeting to order at 5:55 p.m. <br />following the Porter <br />Greenbelt Shelter Dedication Ceremony. <br /> <br /> <br />Present – , <br />BarnesCrawford, Easler, Klein,Lancaster <br /> <br />Absent – <br />Lorenzen, Otte <br /> <br />Easler made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Klein. All signified aye, motion <br />approved. <br /> <br />Easler made a motion to approve the consent items, seconded by Crawford. All signified <br />aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />There were no citizen presentations. <br /> <br />Clive Festival Request- <br />Klein stated that he would participate in the discussion, but would abstain from voting on <br />this issue since he also serves on the 2008 Clive Festival Committee. <br /> <br />ndst <br />Dave Ennen, 1613 NW 102, Clive Festival Committee President, and Dave Johnson, 501 31 <br />St., West Des Moines, Clive Festival Committee Vice President, presented a proposal for the <br />2008 event to be held June 19–21. <br />Requests recommended by staff included: <br />- not more than 150 hours of service be provided by the Parks Staff <br />- confirmation of alternate parking sites to be submitted <br />- temporary fence be placed 10 feet from the Aquatic Center permanent fence and not block the <br />sidewalk <br />-camping not allowed for the carnival employees in the site area <br />-discount swimming be offered at $3.00 for youth and $5.00 for adults with a wristband <br />-festival committee would be allowed to rent the Aquatic facility, if they chose to, for Saturday <br />night swim time <br />-donation of 25 daily passes instead of gift cards. <br />-all licenses and permits be submitted to and approved by City Council <br /> <br /> <br />Barnes left at 6:15. <br /> <br />Easler made a motion to approve the 2007 site plan (in lieu of the Mercy property 2008 <br />Proposal requested by the committee) with all modifications mentioned in staff’s <br />recommendations. Crawford seconded the motion. Three signified aye, one abstain, motion <br />approved. <br /> <br /> <br />
