<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br />CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br />Monday, September 14, 2009 <br />Council Chambers <br />th <br /> 1900 NW 114 Street <br /> <br /> <br />Chairman Otte called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Present <br />-Barnes,Crawford, Easler, Klein, Lancaster, Otte <br />Absent <br /> - Reed <br /> <br />Easler made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Klein. All signified aye, motion <br />approved. <br /> <br />Lancaster made a motion to approve the consent items, seconded by Crawford. All signified <br />aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />There were no citizen presentations. <br /> <br />Walnut Ridge Park Update- <br />Staff has been working with neighborhood residents obtaining suggestions for park <br />improvements. It was determined that replacement of the retaining wall is a priority. New <br />play equipment is also needed. Neighbors expressed interest in volunteering to help with park <br />improvements. Staff will meet again with neighborhood residents to get more ideas as the <br />planning process takes place. <br /> <br />Lancaster made a motion to approve the Walnut Ridge Park update and to proceed with <br />replacement of the retaining wall this Fall. Easler seconded the motion. All signified aye, <br /> <br />motion approved. <br /> <br />Bicycle Speed on the Trail- <br />The Board addressed concerns that were presented at the August meeting. Discussion was held <br />regarding posting advisory signs along the trail, clearing underbrush on corners to aid in <br />visibility, or straightening some of the most difficult curves. <br /> <br />Staff was asked to pursue informational signage and recommendations on color schemes and <br />appropriate placement. A suggestion was made to include a notice regarding this issue in the <br />city newsletter. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
