<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br />CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br />Monday, October 5, 2009 <br />Council Chambers <br />th <br /> 1900 NW 114 Street <br /> <br /> <br />Chairman Otte called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Present <br />-Barnes,Crawford, Easler, Klein, Lancaster, Otte <br />Absent <br /> – Reed <br /> <br />A revised agenda was submitted excluding the Public Art Discussion. <br /> <br />Lancaster made a motion to approve the revised agenda, seconded by Klein. All signified <br />aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />Easler made a motion to approve the consent items, seconded by Lancaster. All signified <br />aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />There were no citizen presentations. <br /> <br />Operating Budget- <br />Kelly Canfield, Director of Parks and Recreation, presented the first draft for the 2010-2011 <br />fiscal budget. The Board was asked for other items they would like to have included. The <br />budget proposal will be brought back to next month’s meeting for final approval. <br /> <br />Not Feeding Animals (deer)- <br />Articles asking for resident’s input will be included on the city website and in the city <br />newsletter. The Board agreed that the issue needs to be addressed and plans to continue <br />discussion at December’s meeting. <br /> <br />Signs for Bike Speed- <br />Staff attended the IPRA Conference and consulted with other city representatives regarding <br />this topic. Others stated that it is a problem with most of them addressing it through articles <br />and education and not using signage at this time. The Board was asked to choose from sign <br />samples provided or to develop new text. The Board suggested utilizing wordage that doesn’t <br />single out specific trail users, but advises all to exercise caution. <br />Staff will take pictures of the signs being used at Gray’s Lake and bring back to the next <br />meeting for further discussion. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
