<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br />CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br />Monday, February 1, 2010 <br />Council Chambers <br />th <br /> 1900 NW 114 Street <br /> <br />Chairman Crawford called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Present – , <br />BarnesCrawford, Guisinger, Martin, *Postma, *Reed, Weaver <br /> <br />Staff presented an addendum to include an additional aquatic pass donation request on the <br />agenda. <br /> <br />Barnes made a motion to approve the agenda, including the addendum item, seconded by <br />Guisinger. All signified aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />Barnes made a motion to approve the consent items, seconded by Weaver. All signified aye, <br />motion approved. <br /> <br />There were no citizen presentations. <br /> <br />*Reed arrived at 5:32. <br /> <br />Walnut Ridge Park Phase II Plans- <br />Staff reviewed Phase I which included the replacement of the retaining wall and the park fence. <br />Improvements to be worked on this Spring include repainting tennis courts, removing the <br />existing play equipment, and re-installing the covered picnic shelter to a new location. <br />Benches and landscaping will be added to finish the project. Neighbors have volunteered to <br />help install the new play equipment that they selected for the park. The projected finish date is <br />mid- summer with the possibility of landscaping being finished during cooler Fall weather. <br />Neighbors that were present at the meeting commented that the retaining wall was very well <br />done. Crawford suggested the possible use of more boulders for an exploratory play area. <br /> <br />Weaver made a motion to approve the Walnut Ridge Park Phase II Plan as presented, <br />seconded by Guisinger. All signified aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />Donation of Passes for the Aquatic Center- <br />Four groups submitted request forms for Aquatic daily admission passes to be reviewed at the <br />February meeting. <br /> <br />*Mike Postma arrived at 5:52. <br /> <br />Guisinger made a motion to donate 25 passes to Make-A-Wish, seconded by Weaver. All <br />signified aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />Barnes made a motion to donate 10 passes to Clive Elementary, seconded by Guisinger. All <br />signified aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />
