<br /> <br /> MINUTES <br />CLIVE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br />Monday, May 3, 2010 <br />Council Chambers <br />th <br /> 1900 NW 114 Street <br /> <br /> <br />Chairman Postma called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. <br /> <br />Present – <br />Guisinger, Postma, Reed, Weaver <br /> <br />Absent – <br />Barnes, Crawford, Martin <br /> <br />Weaver made a motion to approve the agenda, striking Clive Summer Festival and Deer <br />Management Program topics from the agenda, seconded by Guisinger. All signified aye, <br />motion approved. <br /> <br />Reed made a motion to approve the consent items, seconded by Weaver. All signified aye, <br />motion approved. <br /> <br />There were no citizen presentations. <br /> <br />Clive Running Festival- <br />Ed Bell, Clive Running Festival Director, submitted an event application for approval. The <br />th <br />festival will be held on June 19 using the same 5 and 10K routes as previous years, with an <br />exception for the one-mile fun run. Due to D.O.T. construction closure on the Greenbelt Trail, <br />the one-mile route may possibly be diverted a different direction than in past years. To save <br />money, race registrations will be taken electronically, utilizing www.getmeregistered.com and <br />www.fitnesssports.com websites. Board members suggested including registration information <br />in the city newsletter, the DM Register and through email lists. Mr. Bell will speak with staff <br />after the race to obtain suggestions on how to use financial donations. <br /> <br />Reed made a motion to approve the Clive Running Festival application as presented. <br /> <br />Weaver seconded the motion. All signified aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />Requests for Donation of Passes for Clive Aquatic Center- <br />Three requests were received and reviewed by the Board. Staff was asked to contact the Cub <br />Scout Pack Leader to see how many boy scouts are in the pack. <br /> <br />Guisinger made a motion to grant the request for 12 daily passes to the Children’s Cancer <br /> <br />Connection. Reed seconded the motion. All signified aye, motion approved. <br /> <br />Weaver made a motion to allocate daily passes to Cub Scout Pack 206 based on the number <br /> <br />of boys in the pack. Guisinger seconded the motion. All signified aye, motion approved. <br /> <br /> <br />
